Use and rights

 

The Prime Minister’s Office has the right to publish the images in the image bank, while the photographers retain the copyright to their works. Most of the photographs of ministers and Government premises have been taken by Lehtikuva Oy. If a photograph is taken by someone other than Lehtikuva, the name is given in conjunction with the photo.

 

The photographs can be used for editorial purposes and for such purposes published free of charge. The publication right cannot be sold or transferred to a third party. The holders of the copyright and the publication right must be acknowledged in connection with the image as follows: Photo: Lehtikuva Oy/Prime Minister’s Office.

 

The ministers’ photographs can be used in connection with news or information concerning the ministers. The images may not be manipulated without permission. They may not be utilised inappropriately, or used for marketing or advertising or for any other commercial purposes.

 

The photographs of Government premises may be used when disseminating news and information. The images may not be manipulated without permission. They may not be utilised inappropriately, or used for marketing or advertising or for any other commercial purposes.

 

The portraits of the presidents were photographed by Matti Karjanoja in autumn 2002. Copying the works onto hard disks, diskettes, paper, slides, Internet pages or any other material is prohibited without express permission from the copyright holders. The works may not be redistributed, presented or shown to the public, or made otherwise available to the public, without express permission from the copyright holders.

 

Saving of the images

 

You can save an image to your own computer, for example, by right-clicking on the image. From the drop-down menu, select "Save Target as".
